Language Proficiency Requirement

Writing and reading hiragana and katakana are required for all applicants. Prospective students with no experience of Japanese study need to be prepared before a course begins.

Academic Deadlines

Students must apply for a short-term course one month before its start date. However, beginners who have studied Japanese for less than 50 hours in total, can start taking an ongoing course at any time during the academic term as long as the class has availability, and their proficiency in Japanese is equal to that of the classes level.

How to Apply

  3. Complete the application form and placement test
  4. Send these documents to us by email, fax or standard mail. The oral placement test can be done over the net, over the phone or in person at the school before classes begin. To schedule an appointment for your oral placement test, please contact us.
  5. Once your application form and placement test have been reviewed, you will be informed of the specific class schedule that you will be attending. This will be accompanied with an invoice due two weeks prior to the beginning of class.

[NOTE]

  • Please note that there is a 15,000yen non-refundable admissions fee. Payment may be made by debit card or cash at school or by bank remittance to the school. (*Remitters shall bear the bank remittance charge.)
  • We highly recommend you buy travel insurance before your entry into Japan. (Necessary for home-stay candidates)
  • Counselors are available from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Japan time, Monday through Friday. If you would like to check your admissions status, please contact us.
  • Cancellation before session starts:
    When 2 weeks notice is given prior to the starting date, a 15,000 yen handling charge will be applied. All other fees paid will be refunded.
  • Halfway Cancellation (after the session has started):
    The school will charge 20% of the tuition fee equivalent to the rest of the lessons up to a maximum of 50,000 yen, and the rest will be refunded. The admission fee, the application fee and the materials are not refundable.
