Language Proficiency Requirement
Writing and reading hiragana and katakana are required for all applicants. Prospective students with no experience of Japanese study need to be prepared before a course begins.
Academic Deadlines
There are four periods of admission; April, July, October and January.
Applicants who plan to study Japanese for over six months (maximum stay 2 years) in Japan are eligible to apply for a Student Visa.
Those who want to apply for a student visa must register by the deadline posted below.

How to Apply
- Download the application form and other documents needed from the list below.
- Complete the application form & the placement test and send it to us by email, fax, or postal mail.
- The applicant will be informed of the result of the application within a week after the school receives the application form.
- Upon receipt of confirmation of approval, please submit the required documents via mail and make payment of a non-refundable application fee. (20,000yen)
- With these documents, we then apply to the Ministry of Justice for the Certificate of Eligibility. Please allow 3 to 4 months for the submitted documents to be processed by the ministry. Once we are informed of the outcome of the application, you will receive a notice from us, and we will send you an invoice for the course fee.
- Fees (admission, tuition and other fees for six months or a year) should be submitted as soon as you receive the invoice. When we confirm receipt of those fees, the Certificate of Eligibility will be promptly mailed to you.
- Submit visa application along with the Certificate of Eligibility to any Japanese Embassy or Consulate located abroad. The visa will be issued soon after your application.

- Please submit certificate of enrollment and an official transcript of grades if you are still currently studying.
- Proof of Enrolment
- If you are currently a student, please provide the relevant proof of enrollment.
Sponsors Documents
(Japanese or English translation is required)
- Bank Statement
- Please send a bank statement or a certificate of balance prepared within the last 3 months.
In case you have a scholarship support, please provide with the letter of scholarship instead of a bank statement.
- A Letter of Financial Guarantee
- This must explain reasons to support your education and specify the amount of remittance to the school. (*If you finance your education at Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin, you will be the financial sponsor)
- Letter of Employment
- If you are currently employed, provide relevant proof of employment. This certificate must include company letterhead, a manager or supervisors signature, date of issue, location and contact number of the company.
If the financial guarantor is the owner or president of a company, please submit the company registration.
- Proof of Kinship
- The certificate of relationship between you and your financial guarantor, the original family registration, or birth certificates.
- Income or Tax Certificate
- Documentation specifying the payers income for the most recent year.
*If the financial guarantor lives in Japan, you must submit the followings in addition to the documents listed above:
- Alien Registration Certificate
- Inhabitant Tax Certificate
- - Showing his or her annual income as issued by the regional authority.
[NOTE]
- Make payment of the nonrefundable application fee of 20,000 yen. This can be paid by bank remittance to the school, and in this case, the bank remittance charge will be the responsibility of the applicant.
- If for any reason your visa application is declined, you must report this to us with a certification of denial in order to obtain a refund of the fees paid for admission, tuition, and other fees. However, the application fee of 20,000 yen is non-refundable.
- Cancellation before session starts:
When 2 weeks notice is given prior to the starting date, a 15,000 yen handling charge will be applied. All other fees paid will be refunded.
- Halfway Cancellation (after the session has started):
The school will charge 20% of the tuition fee equivalent to the rest of the
lessons up to a maximum of 50,000 yen, and the rest will be refunded. The admission fee, the application fee and the materials are not refundable.
